The client brief

What they came with.

MountainHealth came with a specific challenge that most supplement brands get wrong: UK supplement regulations require specific claims management, ingredient disclosure, and disclaimer placement — but most compliance implementations destroy the conversion flow in the process. The brief was to build a store that satisfied the regulations without making the store feel like a legal document.

Our approach

The decisions behind the build.

Two-column product page architecture: conversion elements (headline, price, subscription option, add to cart) in the dominant column; compliance elements (ingredient panel, dosage table, legal disclaimer) in the secondary column. Compliance content was structured for readability — formatted as clear tables rather than walls of legal text — so it built confidence rather than created friction for the health-conscious UK buyer.

What we built

The systems that made it work.

FIG 0.1

Compliance-structured product pages

Two-column layout separating the conversion flow from regulatory content — product benefits and purchase decision on the left, ingredient panel and dosage table on the right — both present, neither blocking the other.

FIG 0.2

Ingredient breakdown tables

Formatted ingredient panels with quantity per serving, percentage Nutrient Reference Values (%NRV), and purpose annotations — readable for the consumer, compliant for the UK regulator.

FIG 0.3

Dosage guide system

Per-product dosage recommendations, timing guidance, and compatibility notes embedded in the product page — reducing the pre-purchase questions that otherwise generate customer service overhead.

FIG 0.4

Subscription with compliance framing

Monthly subscription positioned alongside clear compliance information — the trust-building context of transparent ingredient disclosure making recurring purchase feel like an informed decision.

FIG 0.5

UK-specific trust signal architecture

UK manufacturing, certified laboratory testing, and FSA-compliant messaging built into the product page template — authority signals that matter specifically to the UK supplement buyer.

FIG 0.6

Stack-based bundle recommendations

Commonly taken with product recommendations driven by efficacy logic (Vitamin D + Magnesium) rather than cross-sell revenue targeting — building credibility with the research-led buyer.

The CRO layer

How we made it convert.

Every store we build has a conversion layer baked in from day one — not retrofitted after launch. These are the specific tactics applied to this build.

01

Compliance information as trust builder, not obstacle

Transparent ingredient panels and dosage tables signal nothing to hide — converting the research-led UK supplement buyer who checks labels before buying, rather than forcing them to seek that information elsewhere.

02

Subscription shown at product page, not checkout

Presenting subscription price alongside single-purchase price at the product decision point makes recurring purchase the default consideration — not an upgrade presented after the buyer has already committed to once.

03

Dosage clarity removes the most common pre-purchase objection

Clear how to take it guidance on the product page eliminates the most frequent customer service question — reducing both pre-purchase abandonment and post-purchase returns from incorrect usage.

04

UK certification specificity over generic quality claims

UK-manufactured, certified by a named body converts better than high quality — specificity is verifiable, and the research-led buyer responds to claims they can independently confirm.

The two-column compliance architecture solved a problem most supplement stores ignore — you can be fully transparent and still convert, if the information is structured rather than dumped.
